Gwen Stefani was among musicians performing at the first-ever PEOPLE Magazine Awards on Thursday night, December 18. Shortly after receiving the Style Icon Award, the No Doubt frontwoman was joined by pal Pharrell Williams for a live performance of their collaboration "Spark the Fire".

Stefani donned a casual outfit consisting of a white top and a pair of black shorts. Pharrell, meanwhile, rocked his signature big hat, a red varsity jacket and a pair of ripped jeans as he danced alongside some backing dancers clad in bright pink tops. "Everybody make some noise for the queen of cool Gwen Stefani!" Skateboard P said towards the end of the song.

Maroon 5 and 5 Seconds of Summer were other performers at the Thursday event. Numerous ladies in the audience could be heard screaming while Adam Levine, wearing a black T-shirt paired with maroon pants, and his bandmates played their latest single "Animals".

The four Australian dudes of 5SOS, meanwhile, excited the crowd with a super energetic performance of "What I Like About You", their cover of The Romantics' song.

The inaugural PEOPLE Magazine Award was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and aired live on NBC. Jennifer Lopez, Kevin Hart, Lisa Kudrow, Jon Hamm, Karlie Kloss and Jennifer Aniston were among stars on the winners list.
