Marvel Announces Two-Part 'Avengers', 'Black Panther' and More

In an event taking place on Tuesday, Marvel announced titles and release dates of its upcoming projects which included 'Thor: Ragnarok' and 'Captain America: Civil War'.

AceShowbiz - A ton of projects which are slated to arrive in theaters through 2019 have been unveiled by Marvel Studios. In a presentation which took place on Tuesday, October 28 at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre, the studio announced the titles and release dates for their exciting projects such as the third installment of "Thor", follow-ups to "The Avengers", and new flicks such as "Captain Marvel", "Black Panther" and "Inhumans".

Following the arrival of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" on May 1, 2015, the follow-up to the flick is split into two parts. "Avengers: Infinity War Part I" will arrive on May 4, 2018, while "Avengers: Infinity War Part II" is coming on May 3, 2019. The two-part flick will see the heroes dealing with Thanos.

The follow-up to "Thor: The Dark World", meanwhile, will be called "Thor: Ragnarok" which means "the end of all things," according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. It "is a very important movie for us in Phase 3. We plan on taking Thor to another level. It picks up where we leave Thor in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and impacts everything that comes after," he explained, as reported by Variety.

On the Tuesday event, the studios revealed its first female superhero movie "Captain Marvel". The flick is coming on July 6, 2018.

Another new project "Black Panther", starring "42" actor Chadwick Boseman as the titular hero, is slated to arrive on Nov. 3, 2017. "I'm blessed to be a part of this Marvel universe, and I'm looking forward to making magic happen," Boseman said of the hiring. An artwork for the character was also revealed.

Marvel additionally announced the release date for "Doctor Strange", to be directed by Scott Derrickson. Feige, however, did not share more info including its rumored cast Benedict Cumberbatch. "Anything that wasn't revealed today is either not true at all or still rumor until it's worked out. When we have information to reveal, we reveal it. Sometimes it's on a random Tuesday at 11 A.M.," Feige said.
