Katy Perry Cancels Birthday Trip to Egypt Due to 'Safety Concerns'

The 'Dark Horse' hitmaker was supposed to bring a group of friends and family to enjoy a cruise on the Nile River and some tourist attractions, but she reportedly has canceled the plan.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry reportedly decided to scrap her plan to travel to Egypt to celebrate her birthday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Unconditionally" singer wanted to bring her friends and family to a trip to the country, enjoying a cruise on the Nile River and having fun in some tourist attractions among others, but she scrapped the plans amid "safety concerns."

Apart from the trip to Egypt, Perry who channels Cleopatra in "Dark Horse" music video, reportedly also plans to travel to Morocco, South Africa and Paris to celebrate her 30th birthday on October 25. According to Us Weekly, the singer was seen landing in Marakesh, Morocco earlier this week.

Perry recently tweeted what she wanted for her birthday and her wish came true. "All I want for my birthday is my name on the Shakey's Pizza marquee on Santa Monica Blvd. Please," she tweeted. The next day, she gave an update on Instagram, uploading a photo of the sign. "KICKING OFF BIRTHDAY WEEK RIGHT! This signage is a bucket list dream come true!!! SHOUT OUT TO ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS FOR KILLING THE GIFT GAME @rivfifi," she captioned it.

Perry is set to bring her "Prismatic" tour to Australia/New Zealand in November through December. She then will make some stops in Europe starting on February 16 before wrapping things up in Stockholm, Sweden on March 22.
