Coming from the creators of 'The Little Mermaid', the CG animation follows a teenage girl's quest to find a fabled island.

AceShowbiz - Disney Animation is all ready to introduce its latest and 56th animated feature, "Moana". The studio gave the first look into the CG-animated comedy-adventure and announced that it would release the project in November 2016.

"Moana" comes from Ron Clements and John Musker, the creators for Disney's "The Little Mermaid (1989)", "Aladdin" and "The Princess and the Frog", making this their first foray into CG animation. The film takes place in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania and follows Moana, a traveler in search of a fabled island.

The titular character is described as a teenage girl and "born navigator." The official synopsis says, "During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore."

Musker commented on the character, "Moana is indomitable, passionate and a dreamer with a unique connection to the ocean itself. She's the kind of character we all root for, and we can't wait to introduce her to audiences."

As for the stage the project was in, Clements revealed, "We're a long way from the finish line. But we're already heavy, heavy into storyboarding and scripting and screenings. And as these processes go along, I know that there'll be more announcements coming down the line in regards to various other aspects of this movie."
