AceShowbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio is out as Steve Jobs. The Oscar nominee was in talks to reunite with "The Beach" director Danny Boyle to play the Apple Computer co-founder in Sony's untitled Steve Jobs biopic, but he has since opted to quit.

The plan was to have DiCaprio start filming the Steve Jobs biopic after he completed "The Revenant", which began shooting this week in Canada. According to THR, that the actor now wants to take a lengthy break from acting right after completing "The Revenant". However, E! Online reported at the same time that it's not true about his hiatus.

Based on Walter Isaacson's book and the script from Aaron Sorkin, the project is expected to focus on the launches of Apple's original Macintosh computer (1984), NeXT Cube (1990), and original iPod (2001). "This entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time," Sorkin said previously.

With DiCaprio out of the picture, the hunt for a new actor is on. Christian Bale is reportedly back on the wish list. He had been David Fincher's first choice before the director quit earlier this year due to compensation and control issues. Other names on Sony's list are Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper and Matt Damon.
