AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles made a surprise appearance onstage during her husband Jay-Z's headlining set at the 3rd Annual Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York on Saturday, September 27. The power couple excited the crowd of 60,000 people with the live performances of "Holy Grail" and "Young Forever".
Hova, who also tackled some of his other hits like "Big Pimpin' " and "Tom Ford" among others, wasn't the only performer who brought out a special guest at that night's event. Another act No Doubt was joined by Sting during the group's headlining set for a rendition of The Police's "Message in a Bottle"
Global Citizen Festival is a free concert put on by the Global Proverty Project whose goal is to end extreme poverty in the world by 2030. The Saturday event also featured performances from Alicia Keys who played her new single "We Are Here" while sitting at a piano. The mom-to-be was joined by one Israeli and one Palestinian who played their respective instruments.
Carrie Underwood, The Roots, DJ Tiesto and Fun. were other names who took the stage of the festival hosted by Hugh Jackman. Between performances, actors, actresses and several humanitarians and world leaders including Zachary Quinto, Ryan Reynolds and Dianna Agron delivered inspirational speeches.
