From a gladiator, Nick Tarabay now turns into superhero's enemy. The actor known for his portrayal of Ashur on Starz's historical drama "Spartacus" is cast as a major supervillian for the third season of "Arrow".

He will portray Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang in multi-episode arc. He will first appear in the seventh episode and recur in the eighth episode, which is billed as a crossover with The CW's new series "The Flash".

In the comics, Captain Boomerang is an enemy of The Flash and has also been associated with the Suicide Squad. He uses a specialized boomerang as his weapon. When he debuts on "Arrow", he will be an ex-ARGUS operative, who is skilled in martial arts and espionage, with a thirst for vengeance against his former employers, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Tarabay joins other "Spartacus" alums Manu Bennett and Katrina Law who were earlier tapped to star on the small-screen adaptation of the DC Comics character. Bennett portrays Slade Wilson/Deathstroke while Law plays Nyssa al Ghul.

Recently, the show has tapped "Riddick" star Matt Nable to portray Ra's al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins and father to Nyssa al Ghul.

"Arrow" will return with its third season Wednesday, October 8 at 8/7c on The CW.
