Usher on Pushing Back New Album 'UR': 'I'm Taking My Time With It'

The singer has worked with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Drake, Pharrell and Chris Brown for the album that's initially planned to be released this fall.

AceShowbiz - Fans have to wait longer until Usher's new album officially arrives. The new set titled "UR", which was originally planned to be released later this year, has been pushed back indefinitely because the singer wants more time to work on it.

"The album isn't scheduled anymore. I've basically taken it back. I'm taking my time with it," Usher said in a new interview with Billboard. "At the end of the day, all of this is just about having fun. You get in the studio [and] go with how you feel."

Usher's stint as a coach on "The Voice" as well as his role as the legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in the "Hands of Stone" biopic were not the only reasons behind the delay of "UR".

"It's not about a specific topic or specific period of my life. I work on 40-50 songs in making an album," the R&B star explained. "I haven't finished the album enough to tell you what I'm talking about."

"UR" has spawned lead single "Good Kisser" and its follow-up, Nicki Minaj-assisted "She Came to Give It to You". In addition to the raptress, Usher's eighth LP will feature the likes of Pharrell Williams, Jermaine Dupri, Diplo, Ed Sheeran, Skrillex and Drake.

Fans can also expect Chris Brown on the album. "There is another record that we worked on for the album. The relationship is great... we've been able to build," Usher told Billboard of collaborating with Brown whom he previously worked with on "New Flame".

While continuing working on "UR", Usher will be hitting the road for his "The UR Experience" tour that's set to open on November 4 in Montreal, Quebec and close out on December 14 in Tampa, Florida.
