Joan Rivers was moved from the intensive care unit to a private room at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City on Wednesday, September 3, her daughter, Melissa Rivers, confirmed. She said that her mother was being "kept comfortable."

Melissa said in a statement, "My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support." However, she did not give any indication whether or not her mother's condition had improved.

Melissa previously claimed her mother remained on life support. She said in a statement on Tuesday, "On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we've received. At this time she does remain on life support. I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers."

Joan was rushed to hospital on August 28 following cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest during a throat surgery. The "Fashion Police" host was then put in a medically induced coma as doctors attempted to evaluate the damage.
