Don Johnson said in his official statement that he was okay with his daughter Dakota Johnson's role in "Fifty Shades of Grey", but behind the scene, the veteran actor was apparently "very upset" about the steamy role. This is according to Dakota's grandmother Tippi Hedren.

Hedren, the mother of Dakota's mother Melanie Griffith, said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "I understand Don Johnson is very upset about her being in the film. He kind of had the same feeling that I did." She added, "I've seen the trailer. That's all I have to watch."

Don previously told Good Morning Britain, "This is the family business. I am absolutely certain that Dakota will take a piece of material and a character, which a lot of people might imagine could be inappropriate in some ways, and turn it into something spectacular."

Griffith later said that they would not be seeing the film because their daughter thought it would be awkward for them.
