Brittany Murphy's father plans to take Lifetime to court following the network's announcement of a biopic focusing on the late actress. Angelo Bertolotti threatens to sue the network, claiming that he wasn't consulted at all for the TV movie and that Lifetime doesn't have any rights to take artistic liberties with his daughter's life.

"Lifetime has not been authorized to produce the true story of Brittany Murphy," he tells Radar Online, adding that there is still an ongoing investigation upon his request into her manner of death. "I should have been consulted. I intend to litigate Lifetime in a court of law."

Lifetime has cast Amanda Fuller in the titular role for "The Brittany Murphy Story". The biopic will cover her younger years when she was struggling to break into acting in the '80s and '90s until her death and the aftermath as there were speculations that her death was not accidental. It's set to debut Saturday, September 6 at 8 P.M.

Brittany's mother has said through a spokesperson that she was not consulted for the movie and did not cooperate with production in any way.

The "Clueless" star died December 20, 2009 at her Hollywood Hills residence at 32 years old. The coroner ruled that she died from pneumonia with iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication as secondary factors. Several months later, in May 2010, her widower Simon Monjack was found dead at the same house due to acute pneumonia and severe anemia.

Brittany's father ordered a new toxicology report, which he claimed indicated that foul play was involved in his daughter's death.
