The first official trailer of "Fifty Shades of Grey" was released as scheduled on Thursday, July 24 via "Today". Since the trailer was too hot for daytime television, host Savannah Guthrie admitted that NBC would only air a partial of it while the full version is available online.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is based on E.L. James' bestselling books about Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele's complicated relationship. Trailer begins with Grey and Steele's first meeting at his office and continues with his photo shoot before things got steamy between them.

"You should steer clear of me. My tastes are very singular. You wouldn't understand," Grey said. "Enlighten me then," Steele dared herself. Viewers then get a glimpse of the Red Room of Pain and their use of it.

The trailer utilizes a remix of Beyonce Knowles' "Crazy in Love". Violinist and recording artist Margot said she arranged the strings on the new version, working together with music producer Boots. Margot told Time, "Obviously I know how 'Crazy in Love' goes, but I knew there was the possibility her vocals would be different. It's almost more vulnerable and beautiful this way, because you do do crazy things when you fall in love. To hear the mood reversed and flipped makes it even more powerful."

Directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, "Fifty Shades of Grey" hits theaters February 13, 2015.
