Christina Aguilera had good news to share on Valentine's Day. The singer took to Twitter on Friday, February 14 to announce her engagement to her film producer boyfriend Matt Rutler. "He asked and I said...," she wrote, adding a photo of her big sparkler with the background of a tropical scenery.

"They're very much in love and are really excited to take this next step!" a source close to the couple told PEOPLE. The "Hurt" singer met Rutler on the set of 2010's film "Burlesque".

Aguilera previously was married to Jordan Bratman. They parted ways in October 2010 after five years of marriage. The divorce was finalized in February 2011 and the two shared custody of their 6-year-old son Max Bratman.

"He's the love of my life, and I adore him," she said of her little boy on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in November 2010. "He's such a character, and he's so happy and at the end of the day, that's what's most important."

Prior to the exciting announcement, the coach on "The Voice" wished her fans a sweet Valentine's Day. "Happy Valentine's Day to all my fans! Hope it is Unforgettable!" she wrote.
