A judge has revoked Chris Brown's probation following his arrest in October. The singer, who is under felony probation for assault on Rihanna in 2009, will not go to jail because he shows positive progress during his court-ordered rehab.

"The clinical and medical team have witnessed very positive change in Mr. Brown since his psychotropic medications have been changed and he has been taken off medical marijuana. His ability to emotionally regulate himself has improved markedly," the program's director told the court on Monday, December 16, as quoted by CNN.

"I'm pleased [Brown] is doing well in the program and for that reason the court is not included to take the defendant into custody," the judge said.

Brown appeared at Los Angeles County Superior Court that day accompanied by his attorney Mark Geragos and girlfriend Karrueche Tran. During the meeting, Judge James Brandlin ordered Brown to continue his rehab stint and community service. Brown was also asked to continue taking his prescription medication but he was not allowed to use medical marijuana. In the next February 10 meeting, the judge will decide whether he will order Brown to complete his sentence in prison.

Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna and was sentenced to 5-year probation in 2009. The probation required him to stay out of legal trouble. The singer, however, got arrested in October after he allegedly punched a man in Washington D.C. Shortly after the arrest, he checked into a rehab facility for anger-management problem.
