Beyonce Knowles gave fans a surprise when she recently brought her "Mrs. Carter World Tour" to Chicago's United Center. The singer decided to treat her fans with the first live performance of a new song called "XO".

"I'm gonna sing this song, which is a brand new song. It hasn't even been out for 24 hours. I want to sing this to y'all because it was written for y'all," she said. She then asked fans to sing along with her, to which her fans happily agreed.

Written by Ryan Tedder, "XO" is featured in Beyonce's long-awaited self-titled album, "Beyonce". The album, which includes 14 songs and 17 videos, unexpectedly arrived on Thursday, December 13.

According to Billboard, two lead singles off the record will be released to radio next week. "Blow", which was produced by Pharrell Williams, will hit Top 40 while the Jay-Z-assisted "Drunk in Love" will go to urban radio. Meanwhile, "XO" will enter the Top 40 as the second single in 2014.

"Beyonce", which was released via iTunes, will be available on streaming services such as Spotify soon. Physical copies of the album will arrive in time for the holidays. Beyonce's highly-anticipated fifth album is already on track to debut at Billboard 200's No. 1 as it sold 200,000 copies in its first three days.
