David Letterman has enlisted his recent celebrity guests to help spoof Rob Ford's infamous crack-smoking apology. In a November 28 episode of "Late Show with David Letterman", the host introduced a fake documentary by Ken Burns which was based on the inappopriate statements made by the Mayor of Toronto following the controversy.
In the parody called "The Statement", Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Vince Vaughn, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Martha Stewart took turn to read Ford's various statements he made on several media outlets.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" star Lawrence opened it as saying, "Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine." She added in another scene, "All I can say is I've made mistakes," which was followed by Vaughn saying, "...and you guys kept referring to alcohol." At the end of the parody, Stewart read a quote from Ford's interview with Fox News, "Yes, one day I do want to run for prime minister."
Ford admitted to using crack cocaine "probably in one of my drunken stupors" earlier this month. He has since made not-so-apologetic statements, including saying, "I wasn't lying. You didn't ask the correct questions," when asked why the admission took so long.
