Rupert Sanders Tapped to Direct 'Napoleon' for Warner Bros
Movie

The 'Snow White and the Hunstman' director will bring the story of the famous French conqueror to the big screen using a script written by Jeremy Doner.

Rupert Sanders is expected to tackle a historical story for his next directing project. The 42-year-old British helmer has been billed to serve behind the lens for a biopic about Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the most important figures in French Revolution.

"Napoleon" is described as a Scarface-style look at the French leader. Jeremy Doner ("Damages", "The Killing") is tapped to write the screenplay. Gianni Nunari ("300") serves a producer, and Niija Kuykendall will oversee it for Warner Bros.

Sanders made his directorial debut in 2012's "Snow White and the Huntsman" which was a success commercially and critically. The Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth starrer grossed $396 million worldwide and got two Oscar nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Costume Design.

Unfortunately, the movie's success was marred with Sander's cheating scandal with Stewart. It led to their splits from their respective partners. Sanders was served with divorce papers by Liberty Ross who ironically played Stewart's on-screen mother in the film. Meanwhile, the "Twilight Saga" star reconciled with her beau Robert Pattinson before eventually breaking up with him again.

Since Universal's "Snow White", Sanders has lined up "90 Church" which will reunite him with producer Joe Roth and the studio, and a big-screen adaptation of Frederick Forsyth's thriller "The Kill List". He is also developing "The Juliet" for Sony and New Regency.
