"Ghost" is going to be revived on the small screen. Paramount TV has tapped Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman ("A Beautiful Mind") and veteran showrunner Jeff Pinkner ("Fringe") to write the pilot for a potential TV series based on the 1990 hit movie.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Akiva and Jeff, two deeply creative and accomplished talents, on the television adaptation of this classic supernatural drama," says Paramount TV president Amy Powell.

The "Ghost" pilot marks the first project from Paramount's newly-launched TV division. No network is currently attached to the drama pilot.

The "Ghost" movie helped its stars Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore earn Golden Globe Award nominations, and Whoopi Goldberg receive Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Saturn Awards. Raking in over $505 million at the box office, it became the highest-grossing film of 1990.
