Stevie Nicks Will Guest Star on 'American Horror Story: Coven'

The 'Talk to Me' singer, who is idolized by Lily Rabe's character Misty Day, will stop by the FX anthology series.

"American Horror Story: Coven" will have a visit from a special guest. Legendary singer Stevie Nicks is set to stop by the FX hit series in an upcoming episode of this season, but her role is still unknown.

Breaking the news was none other than series creator Ryan Murphy, who has made no secret of his admiration for the former Fleetwood Mac member. "Guess who's visiting the Coven? The legendary Stevie Nicks!" he tweeted on Tuesday, November 12.

While it will be Nicks' first visit to the show, her presence has been felt on the series since Lily Rabe's Misty Day is depicted as a fan of the singer/songwriter and her music. Murphy explained, "When we got to this witch idea, I thought, if you're Misty and you have grown up alone and you don't know any other witches, there's one witch you probably would know and that's Stevie Nicks."

"So I called Stevie Nicks and first I said, 'I want to use you in the show.' But she was very resistant because from the beginning of her career people who are in the Wiccan community had given her a hard time thinking she was a witch and she got a lot of scary fan letters. She didn't like the darkness of that, and I explained to her the part and she's like, 'Aw f**k, let's just do it. OK, I love it.' "

Murphy's love for Nicks has also influenced his other TV series, "Glee". In an episode of the second season, the FOX musical drama series paid tribute to Fleetwood Mac by covering six songs from their 1977 album "Rumors".

"American Horror Story" airs Wednesdays at 10 P.M. on FX.
