'Paranormal Activity 5' Gets Director and Writers
Movie

Gregory Plotkin, the editor and co-producer of the last three installments, is on board as the director, while 'Almanac' scribes will write the screenplay.

Director and writers for the upcoming fifth "Paranormal Activity" movie have been chosen. Gregory Plotkin will make his directorial debut in "Paranormal Activity 5", while scribe duo Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman will pen the script.

Though it will be his first helming duty, Plotkin is actually quite familiar with "Paranormal Activity". He previously served as the editor and co-producer of the last three installments and the upcoming spin-off, "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones".

Pagan and Deutschman are no strangers to chilling story either. The pair are fresh off their gig writing Michael Bay-produced "Almanac" with Andrew Stark. The sci-fi thriller due February 28, 2014 is presented in found footage a la "Paranormal Activity".

The next "Paranormal Activity" is slated to haunt theaters in the United States on October 25, 2014, preceded with "The Marked Ones" on January 3. The Latin-themed spin-off is directed by Christopher Landon, who wrote the last three "Paranormal Activity" pics.

Landon will leave the horror franchise to direct a new Paramount scary film called "Boy Scouts vs. Zombies".
