"American Horror Story: Coven" has finally introduced its stars in a newly-released promo. Titled "Initiation", it has Taissa Farmiga as one of students of a witch academy. She leads the pack as they head into a mansion, with who appear to be Gabourey Sidibe and Emma Roberts following close behind.

Evan Peters is looking on from a window, while Sarah Paulson greets the girls on the doorway. Once they are inside the mansion, they meet coven leaders, played by Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett, who are all dressed in black.

Besides giving first look at the characters, the video features supernatural imagery like the previous promos did, showing some levitating girls and a human with a bull's head.

"Coven" is set in New Orleans and centers on Lange's witch character Fiona, who is determined to protect the Coven when mysterious attacks have been escalating against her kind. Kathy Bates plays her rival Marie Delphine LaLaurie, who is loosely based on the real-life Louisiana-born socialite infamous for killing and torturing black slaves in the 1830s.

Bassett stars as Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau, who is also based on a real-life figure, a Louisiana Creole woman "in the 1800s who was very influential in the city." Paulson plays Fiona's daughter and Danny Huston is cast as Fiona's love interest.

The third installment in the Ryan Murphy-created anthology series is set to debut Wednesday, October 9 at 10 P.M. on FX.
