Christopher Nolan's next movie gets much starrier with the arrival of another high-profile actor. The Playlist learns that Matt Damon has joined "Interstellar" for a small, undisclosed role. The Oscar-winning actor, who also plays small role in Terry Gilliam's "The Zero Theorem", is said to film his part for only two weeks in Iceland.

Damon is the latest addition to the already star-studded cast ensemble, which has Matthew McConaughey, Michael Caine and Jessica Chastain. Anne Hathaway landed her first sci-fi role in the upcoming flick, which centers on a group of explorers traveling through a wormhole and into another dimension.

"Interstellar" won't likely become the only new work commitment for Damon as the site additionally reveals that he is in early talks to direct "The Foreigner", which is based on a New Yorker article "A Murder Foretold" with a script by "Argo" writer Chris Terrio.

In the project developed by Paramount Pictures, a murdered Guatemalan man has videos of his killers distributed after his death in order to uproot the corruption that led to the death of many others. If the deal is sealed, it will be Damon's directorial debut after dropping out of helming "Promised Land" due to his "Elysium" schedule.
