Rachel McAdams has just added a new work commitment. The 34-year-old Canadian beauty, who starred opposite then boyfriend Ryan Gosling in the Teen Choice Award-winning romance "The Notebook", is set to join James Franco in "Every Thing Will Be Fine", the upcoming drama from director Wim Wenders.

In the story as unveiled by The Hollywood Reporter which broke the casting news, Franco's character is a man responsible for the death of a young boy who channels his guilt into a successful writing career. As he gets more famous, however, he represses and rejects the emotional connection he has to the boy's brother and mother post-the accident.

McAdams will be featured as Franco's on-screen girlfriend, who needs to deal with his deteriorating mental health. Charlotte Gainsbourg plays the mother of the aforementioned young kid, while Robert Naylor is playing the brother, who reaches out to Franco's character, Thomas, 10 years after the accident.

Wenders directs from a script by Bjorn Olaf Johannessen. Gian-Piero Ringel is on board to produce the movie, which already kicked off its production in Montreal last week.

McAdams, also known for starring in "The Vow", will next be seen in "About Time", a romantic comedy from Richard Curtis, the writer of "Notting Hill".
