A hit-and-run charge against Chris Brown has been dismissed by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Christine Ewell after the "With You" singer and the other motorist Olga Kovalenko reached civil compromise. According to TMZ, Kovalenko wanted the case dismissed because the damage was minor.

Los Angeles City Attorney, however, objected, saying that Brown was aggressive towards Kovalenko following the May accident, called her "b*tch" and left the scene. The City Attorney also said that Brown violated his 2009 felony probation, which stemmed from assault case on his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Brown's attorney Mark Geragos commented on the result of the Thursday, August 15 court meeting, "The case never should have been filed in the first place. It's unfortunate he was being prosecuted for who he is rather than what he's done." The singer wrote on Twitter following the dismissal, "Thank GOD!" and provided a link to the news article. According to Reuters, Brown is scheduled to attend a probation hearing on Friday.

Brown allegedly rear-ended a Mercedes Benz as he went out with Karrueche Tran in May. He was charged with driving without a license, insurance and hit-and-run. The charges caused a judge revoking Brown's probation on June 15.

In late July, two charges against Brown were dropped because the Grammy-winning singer could show his driving license and insurance documents. He turned himself in at a Van Nuys, California jail on August 5 to be officially booked after he pled not guilty during the July court session.
