John Rzeznik is a married man for a second time. The Goo Goo Dolls frontman tied the knot with Melina Gallo Friday, July 26 at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California. They swapped vows under an old oak tree in front of about 120 guests including his bandmates.

"The whole thing was just about family and friends. It was really beautiful and romantic," he told PEOPLE. "We've been together a while and I'm not going anywhere and we'd like to start a family. I'd prefer to be married when I have kids."

The bride wore an Enzoani gown and the groom donned a dark green Gucci suit. Though a singer himself, he did not sing at the wedding. "We made it perfectly clear that I would not be singing at all at our wedding. Our song was Adele's 'Make You Feel My Love.' I love her version of that song," he said.

The newlyweds plan to go on a honeymoon in Italy and France after he's done touring to promote the band's tenth album, "Magnetic". As for how many kids they want to have, he explained, "We'll start with one and deal with it from there."

The wedding was officiated by Episcopal priest and longtime friend Rev. Michael Ralph. Rzeznik and Gallo have been together since 2005. He split from his first wife in 1997.
