Armie Hammer Is Not 'Ant-Man', Vin Diesel Might Be Courted for 'Avengers 2'
Movie

While director/writer Edgar Wright denies reports he has secretly offered Hammer Ant-Man role, Diesel reveals that Marvel wants to meet him.

AceShowbiz -

Latest updates on two Marvel movies have surfaced online. First up, director Edgar Wright takes to Twitter to slam recent rumors he met Armie Hammer on the set of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and offered him a leading role in "Ant-Man". "But... I haven't been on the Cap 2 set," Wright wrote. "Or met Mr. Hammer."

Hammer confirms the truth to ScreenRant. The co-star of Johnny Depp in "The Lone Ranger" admits he's never heard of "Ant-Man" project or even the director's name. "Who's Edgar Wright?" he says to the site in response to the rumor. "I did go visit the set, though. Not with Edgar. Um... a buddy of mine was working on the movie so I just wanted to go say hi."

While "Ant-Man" still has no actor attached to it, "The Avengers 2" will possibly get a new cast member to play alongside returning actor Robert Downey Jr. Vin Diesel fuels rumors that he is set to be featured in the movie following a recent post in his Facebook page. "Marvel has requested a meeting, no idea what for," Diesel wrote. "You probably know better than me."

Diesel once changed his Facebook profile pic to an image of an android Avenger named Vision, seemingly hinting at his interest in portraying that character. However, it's still unknown whether the meeting is intended to discuss that matter or not.

"Ant-Man" and "Avengers 2" are scheduled to be released in 2015.
