Arnold Schwarzenegger is confirmed to join a thriller movie called "Maggie". Variety, which broke the news first, learns that the Austrian-born actor is set to star in Henry Hobson's next project as a father on a journey to help his daughter, who slowly becomes a zombie, come to terms with her infection.

The movie is set during a zombie apocalypse era. Besides acting, Schwarzenegger takes part in the production as a producer along with Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, Matt Baer, Trevor Kaufman, Colin Bates and Joey Tufaro. Ara Keshishian, Hubert Gibbs, Claudia Bluemhuber and John Scott 3, whose Black List script is used for this project, are among the executive producers.

Chloe Moretz was initially expected to nab the title role. The "Kick-Ass" actress entered negotiations last year, but eventually passed on it due to scheduling issues. At that time, Paddy Considine, who starred alongside Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger in "Cinderella Man", was in talks to tackle a role as her on-screen dad.

"Maggie" will start its production in the fall.

Schwarzenegger is already attached to "The Expendables 3" and "Terminator 5". Recently in talks to star in "The Toxic Avenger" remake, he will next be seen in "Escape Plan".
