The Massachusetts-native comedian, who took part at the Boston benefit concert on Thursday, May 30, says that he doesn't want his new material to 'hit the airwaves yet.'

Many Massachusetts artists, including Aerosmith, New Kids On The Block and Extreme, took part at Boston Strong concert on Thursday night, May 30. However, it was comedian Dane Cook who made the biggest headline at the concert after he didn't allow his part to be included in the free livestream.
The 41-year-old comedian then explained his decision. "Hey everyone sorry my set was not a part of the live stream or televised! I didn't want any of the new material to hit the airwaves yet!" he tweeted. "I can't wait to share it soon! The event was so meaningful and special. One of the best nights of my life."
Cook's explanation infuriated fans. A Twitter user slammed the "Good Luck Chuck" actor, saying, "@DaneCook You d**k. You were there for a charity, not for your own self-promotion. D**k."
A Boston Herald's sports writer, Jeff Howe, also expressed his disappointment. "Couldn't imagine turning on a city the way @DaneCook did tonight. I know that's not how it goes here in Massachusetts... I'll admit, I used to think he was hilarious, but turning your back on your state makes you look like a squirrel... Why use a tragedy to tease your career?"
Boston Strong was expected to raise fund to help the victims of Boston Marathon bombing. The event was not broadcast on TV and this apparently caused troubles to those who live-streamed the five-hour-plus concert. "Nearly half a million people logged on to view the beginning of the show which lead to bandwidth related issues," promoter Live Nation said in a statement.
