Farewell Programs Will Accompany the End of 'Jersey Shore'

The most polarizing reality shows in TV history is ending after six seasons but a series of companion programs will be aired for its fans.

AceShowbiz - "Jersey Shore" fans prepare to say goodbye because MTV is ending the reality show. With Snooki embracing motherhood and some of the cast members having their own projects including spin-offs, "Jersey Shore" will close the door at the end of season six.

Production of the final season recently wrapped up on a beach at Seaside Heights. Onlookers said the gang were joined by about 50 of their friends and family at the beach party that lasted from about 6 P.M. until 1 A.M.

The season will premiere Thursday, October 4 at 10 P.M. ET/PT but a stream of farewell programs will begin on September 6 at 6 P.M. ET/PT with a one-hour special titled "Gym, Tan, Look Back". It recaps some memorable moments from the show, including as well interviews with the cast and sneak peek of the upcoming season.

On the same day of the special, the cast will walk the red carpet of 2012 MTV Video Music Awards which will be streamed live from L.A.'s Staples Center starting 7 P.M. After the season premieres, there will be bonus programming each week at 11 P.M. ET/PT following the final episodes.
