Condolences continue to pour in for Tony Scott's family following his death on Sunday, August 19. The latest star who paid respect to the late director is Denzel Washington, who collaborated with the filmmaker in a series of big screen projects.

"Tony Scott was a great director, a genuine friend and it is unfathomable to think that he is now gone," Denzel said in a statement to E! News. They worked together in "Crimson Tide", "Deja Vu", "Man on Fire", "The Taking of Pelham 123" and the director's last movie "Unstoppable".

"He had a tremendous passion for life and for the art of filmmaking and was able to share this passion with all of us through his cinematic brilliance. My family sends their prayers and deepest condolences to the entire Scott family," Denzel continued.

Tony jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles Sunday, August 19 at about 12:30 P.M. local time. The "Top Gun" director left a note containing his contact information inside his car parked near the bridge, and left a suicide letter at his office. He was 68 years old.

He was rumored having terminal cancer, but his wife Donna Wilson called the report "absolutely false." She ruled out story that he had serious health problems that would have led him to take his own life. Autopsy was performed on his body, but the cause of his death remained undetermined pending the results of toxicology tests.

He reportedly worked on "Top Gun 2" with Tom Cruise before his death. "Tony was my dear friend, and I will really miss him," the actor said upon hearing the sad news. "He was a creative visionary whose mark on film is immeasurable. My deepest sorrow and thoughts are with his family at this time."

Fellow director Jon Favreau also tweeted condolence, "Such sad news about Tony Scott. Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends." Ron Howard wrote, "No more Tony Scott movies. Tragic day." Tony's director brother Ridley Scott halted the production of his movie "The Counselor" to be back to L.A. with his family.

In addition to making big-screen projects, Tony executive produced several TV series including CBS' dramas "Numb3rs" and "The Good Wife". Josh Charles of "Good Wife" and David Krumholtz of "Numb3rs" both mourned the late director.

Most recently, TMZ reported that videos capturing the moments when Tony leaped off the bridge were being shopped around. Some eyewitness recorded it with their cellphones and continued to tape it even when he jumped off the bride, while others took pictures. The incident was also caught on a surveillance camera.
