Since "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" was released, people have been wondering about whom Taylor Swift was singing about. In an interview aired on "Good Morning America" Tuesday, August 14, the country/pop singer admitted it's inspired by her personal experience and gave a hint at who the guy might be.

"This guy walks in who is a friend of my ex's and starts talking about how he's heard we're going to get back together. And that was not the case," she said. "So I start telling them the story: break up, get back together, break up, get back together - just, ugh, the worst! And I picked up the guitar and Max said, 'This is what we're writing'."

Another clue found in her lyrics hinted that the guy was a musician like her. "I'm really gonna miss you picking fights," sings the 22-year-old star. "And me, falling for a screaming that I'm right. And you, will hide away and find your piece of mine with some indie record that's much cooler than mine."

Taylor is currently dating Conor Kennedy, 18. She was previously linked to Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal. In her previous albums, she's believed to have written songs about the Jonas Brothers star, the "Twilight Saga" hunk, and the "Your Body Is Wonderland" hitmaker.

Talking about writing lyrics with cryptic messages, Taylor said, "It's pretty difficult to come up with them because I know that you guys are going to figure it out." She, however, appreciated the effort, "I'm really excited about the fact that you guys care about lyrics. Hiding little codes in lyrics is kind of a way of encouraging that."

The single is listed in "Red" due to arrive in the United States on October 22. The title represents "all the different emotions on this album they're all pretty much about the tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships I've experienced in the last two years and all those emotions fanning from intense love, intense frustration, intense jealousy, confusion, all of that in my mind."
