Beyonce Knowles is lending a helping hand to the United Nations ahead of World Humanitarian Day on August 19 aimed to honor people who died in humanitarian service and others who continue to help those in need. She encourages people around the world to join the cause.
"We all see the headlines, and we think, what can I really do to help? World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference," she gushes. "This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care."
Queen Bey dedicates one of her songs "I Was Here" that contains inspirational lyrics written by Diane Warren to the campaign. She an Diane will donate its music video to be filmed in the UN General Assembly Hall in New York in front of a live audience.
The campaign aims at reaching 1 billion people to spread love message and "create an unprecedented awareness of the plight of people affected by crises around the world." Beyonce says in her official website, "We rise together - for each other. Do one thing. Nothing is too small. Do one thing for another human being."
