New series "Homeland" won big with the TV critics, nabbing two nods at the annual Television Critics Association awards. Announced on Saturday, July 28 night, the winners list saw the Showtime series taking home Outstanding New Program and Individual Achievement in Drama for Claire Danes.

The awards were given out at the Beverly Hilton ballroom but the event was not televised and was off the record. Bryan Cranston hosted the awards. His show, "Breaking Bad", won Outstanding Achievement in Drama, while FX's "Louie" won the comedy award. The Program of the Year went to HBO's "Game of Thrones".

"The past year in television offered a wide variety of standout programming. Viewers were treated to shows that were fearless, thought-provoking and original," TCA president Candace Havens said in a statement. "Whether it was the hard-hitting drama of 'Homeland,' the elegance of 'Downton Abbey,' the brash honesty of 'Louie' or any of our other winners - truly, there was something for everyone."
