Beyonce Knowles' and Jay-Z's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, has been named honorary citizen of Croatia's island of Hvar. The officials in the region granted the status to the baby after learning that Queen Bey and her husband named their newborn after a tree wrapped in blue ivy color somewhere on the island.

Ivy was born in January 2012, but Beyonce decided her name months prior. While on vacation in Croatia with her husband, the singer came across the "beautiful blue" tree. She said in a video message, "I think it's Blue Ivy, which would be quite appropriate!" Since then, interest on the tourism spot has dramatically increased.

"The story of the origin of the name of your daughter has brought enormous media attention and therefore tourist promotion to the town and island of Hvar," said Major Pjerino Bebic when making the announcement. "Because of this, I have decided to confer on your daughter the status of honourary citizen of the town of Hvar."
