Alicia Keys became the first person who congratulated Jermaine Paul after he won the first place on "The Voice" second season. The "No One" hitmaker was so happy for her former backing singer that she immediately called him after he was crowned the winner.

"She was screaming with excitement," he said as quoted by New York Daily News. "She told me she's been watching me and supporting me the whole time. She was saying how proud of me she was." To Ok! Magazine, he added, "She made me feel like a million bucks."

Leading to "The Voice" finale night on May 8, Keys had been campaigning for Paul on Twitter. She quickly sent congratulatory message to him after his win, "@JermainePaul deservesssss all of this!!!!! He has more talent in one hand....;-)))) congratulations brotha!!!!!!! Shine shine shine!!!!!!"

Paul reportedly was still standing on stage with confetti falling on him when the singer wife of Swizz Beatz called him. "I spoke to her and she was screaming on the top of her lungs," he opened up. "Mama Keys was right there."

By winning first, Paul who was mentored by Blake Shelton during his stay on the singing competition got top prize of $100,000 and scored a record deal with Universal. "I'm so excited about the future and getting in the studio and creating this album," he gushed.
