An attorney for Jason Trawick clarifies that the request for Jason to join Britney's father in managing her personal affairs was made by the 'Till the World Ends' singer.

Britney Spears' fiance has been given legal power to govern the singer's personal affairs. On Wednesday, April 25, Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz granted co-conservatorship of the "Hold It Against Me" singer to Jason Trawick. It means that he shares legal authority over the pop star's general well-being with her father Jamie Spears.
After the hearing, Jason's attorney Geraldine Wyle told reporters that Britney's former agent is "thrilled" by the approval of the court conservatorship, reasoning that "it's all in the family." The lawyer also clarified that the decision to add Jason to conservatorship came at the 30-year-old singer's request, and not her father's.
Jason was present at the Wednesday hearing, but didn't comment on his appointment as co-conservator. While he now has control over decision-making aspects of Britney's personal life, he won't be managing her multimillion-dollar fortune, which will still be overseen by her father and another attorney.
Britney has been placed under a court-ordered conservatorship since February 2008. Her father Jamie took over legal control over the "Womanizer" hitmaker and her finances after she suffered a psychological breakdown. The pop star herself got engaged to Jason in December 2011, and in April 2012, it was reported that Jamie has petitioned to a court to have Jason as co-conservator.
