Opening to $33.6 million, the Chris Brown-starring comedy movie also beats fellow newcomers 'Lucky One' and 'Chimpanzee' which debut on the second and fourth place respectively.

"Think Like a Man" successfully opens on the top spot of North American box office, knocking down former defending champion "The Hunger Games". The comedy, which stars Chris Brown and Meagan Good among others, rakes in $33.6 million on its debut weekend.
Sony Pictures president of worldwide distribution Rory Bruer says of the movie, "It worked because it is so damn funny. It doesn't matter whether you are a man or a woman, you are going to have a great time." The film itself receives an "A" CinemaScore, while appeals to 62|percent| audience over the age of 30.
Debuting on the runner-up spot is Zac Efron-starring romantic drama, "The Lucky One", which bags $22.5 million. The film based on Nicholas Sparks' novel gets a "B+" CinemaScore, while 76|percent| of ticket buyers are female and 52|percent| are under the age of 25.
Though it couldn't surpass the gross of other Sparks novel-adapted movies, such as 2010's "Dear John" and "The Last Song", "The Lucky One" is still considered of having a strong start. "What a nice weekend at the box office. Zac Efron is clearly the guy, and Nicholas Sparks is the best," says Warner Bros. Pictures executive vice president of distribution Jeff Goldstein.
After claiming the champion title for four weeks in a row, "The Hunger Games" falls to the third place this week with $14.6 million. The movie collects a total domestic cume of $357 million and $572.8 million globally.
Another newcomer, "Chimpanzee", opens on the fourth place this weekend. The nature documentary rakes in $10.6 million while receiving an "A" CinemaScore and attracting mostly female moviegoers which make up 68|percent| of the film's ticket buyers.
Rounding up the top five is "The Three Stooges" which grabs $9.7 million, dropping 46|percent| from last weekend. The slapstick comedy grosses $29.3 million domestically after two weeks playing in the U.S. theaters.
