The weekend one of the 2012 Coachella Music Festival has been closed with a spectacular performance by Snoop Dogg and co. During the peak performance on Sunday, April 15, the Doggfather has brought back rap legend Tupac Shakur to life through a high-tech 3D hologram image.

Rocking acid-washed jeans circa 1995, the hologram image of 2Pac appeared shirtless before greeting the crows, "What up, Coachella!" It then joined the "What's My Name" rapper in performing such hits as "Hail Mary" and "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted".

Tupac's surprise Coachella performance soon sparked frenzy on Twitter. A fan reacted, "Was completely freaked out by the Tupac hologram and I'm fairly certain I was one of five people out of 100,000 not on drugs," while another wrote, "i can't even begin to imagine what this Tupac hologram is doing to all the people at Coachella that have been on acid for 3 days straight."

Another concertgoer tweeted, "I wonder how many rappers retired from seeing the Tupac hologram on COACHELLA," as another one posted, "Next year Coachella should just have a HOLOGRAM TENT featuring all the acts that we wish we got to see live..."

Tupac, who was shot to death in 1996, was among a host of hip-hop big names that whipped the crowd into a frenzy during the closing performance. Also cheering up the crowd from kick-off at 10:35 P.M. to just before midnight were the likes of Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, Tony Yayo, Warren G and Kurupt.

50 Cent performed his hit "In Da Club". He followed Wiz who joined Snoop to deliver their radio smash hit "Young, Wild & Free". Slim Shady, meanwhile, rapped such hits as "Forgot About Dre", "I Need a Doctor" and "Till I Collapse".
