Hoping that the upcoming film would be rated R by the MPAA, the 'Blade Runner' helmer says, 'I'll do everything I can to get the most aggressive film I can.'

"Prometheus" has yet to get its rating from the MPAA, but director Ridley Scott has opened up about what rating grade he favors for the highly anticipated space thriller movie. In an interview for the latest issue of Empire magazine, the veteran moviemaker admitted that he actually wants the film to be rated R.
Confessing that he still doesn't know what rating the MPAA will give to the film, the 74-year-old director said, "Right now I don't know where we are." He added, "The question is, do you go for the PG-13, or do you go for what it should be, which is R?"
"Financially it makes quite a difference, or the risk makes quite a difference, and yet you also have to apply the question - if you soften it, will you financially suffer? As opposed to just going for the throat and gambling," he said.
The "Gladiator" helmer thought that the forthcoming film is more suitable for R. "Essentially, it's kinda R," he claimed. "The little bastards will still get in anyway, so what's the difference? It's not just about blood, it's about ideas that are very stressful. I'm not an idiot, but I'll do everything I can to get the most aggressive film I can."
During the chat, the English filmmaker shared that he's been eager to make the space traveler movie for a long time since he made 1979's "Alien". He confessed, "[I've wanted to revisit it for] years! Years, years, years."
"I always wondered when they did [Alien] 2, 3 and 4 why they hadn't touched upon that, instead of evolving into some other fantastic story," Scott continued. "They missed the biggest question of them all: who's the big guy? And where were they going? And with what? Why that cargo? There's all kinds of questions."
In "Prometheus", Scott creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers find a clue to the origin of mankind on Earth. The discovery leads them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must battle to save the future of the human race.
Due to arrive in the U.S. on June 8, the thriller is supported by a set of notable actors like Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce and Logan Marshall Green.
