Madonna Responds to YouTube's Restriction of 'Girl Gone Wild' Video

Now that the steamy music video has been tagged with 'inappropriate for some users', Madonna's rep Liz Rosenberg says some things never change.

Madonna's sexy music video "Girl Gone Wild" inevitably earned the restriction online. It is banned from open view on YouTube for containing suggestive scenes such as nudity and raunchy acts. Madonna's response through her rep Liz Rosenberg was, "Some things never change. This is a throwback to [1990] when MTV refused to show 'Justify My Love'."

Only those 18 years old and above may be able to view the video. If Madonna and her team would like it available for everyone, then she must edit out scenes like implied masturbation, bare bottoms and man rubbing his crotch, NY Post reports. Although she appeared to be unhappy with the restriction, Madonna reportedly worked on an edited version for YouTube on Friday, March 23.

"YouTube has decided the video is too raunchy and should only be viewed by those 18 or over, and actually, the video is hard to find on the site. YouTube has sent Madonna's team a list of shots that should be cut to make it appropriate for everyone," a source told NY Post.

The video was directed by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. "While we don't comment on individual videos, we review all videos flagged by our users against our community guidelines. In some cases we agerestrict flagged material that, while not in violation of those guidelines, contains images that may be unsuitable for younger users," YouTube's rep said.
