"The Descendants" writers did not mean to mock Angelina Jolie by striking a similar pose to the actress' when accepting their Best Adapted Screenplay prize at the 84th Annual Academy Awards. When asked about the matter backstage, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash insisted that it was just their way to honor the Hollywood beauty.
Faxon told The Hollywood Reporter, "Angelina's supremely hot. There's no way to do anything but honor her." His co-writer Rash, who is also known as Dean Pelton on "Community", chimed in, "I had just seen her pose and thought it was bold and fun. And you know what? We have exactly the same legs! Really, it was a loving tribute and nothing but."
The Internet started the buzz that Faxon and Rash were mocking Jolie after the two stuck their right leg out in the same fashion that the "Changeling" star did on the red carpet and when she presented Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Screenplay. At one point, Rash was even seen placing his Oscar on his hip and throwing his head back, drawing laughter from the audience.
