A "Seinfeld" actor is being hospitalized in critical condition after surviving what appears to be a failed suicide attempt. Daniel von Bargen, the actor playing George Costanza's boss Mr. Kruger on the '90s TV series, shot himself in the head on Monday, February 20 morning, but managed to made a 911 call from his Cincinnati apartment afterward.

In the graphic 911 tape obtained by TMZ, the 61-year-old told the dispatcher, "I've shot myself in the head... and I need help." When asked if the incident was accidental, he confessed, "No, I was supposed to go to the hospital today and I didn't want to, so I shot myself but it didn't work." He went on to explain that he suffers from diabetes and added, "They were supposed to amputate at least a few toes."

The 911 recording further uncovered that von Bargen shot himself in the temple with a Colt .38 revolver. When police finally arrived at his apartment, they can be heard yelling at the "Malcolm in the Middle" actor to keep his hands where they could see them. He was then transported to Bethesda North Hospital.

von Bargen is also known for his role as Chief Grady in "Super Troopers". He made an appearance on "Law & Order" and "The West Wing", and had a role in 2009 comedy "London Betty".
