The Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams-starring romantic movie scores the biggest gross on non-weekend Valentine's Day, beating previous record holder 'Hitch' which grossed $7.5 million in 2005.

After opening as a box office champion on a record-breaking weekend, "The Vow" continues to hit another milestone on Valentine's Day. The romantic movie starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams has broken the record for a non-weekend Valentine by grossing a massive $11.6 million, increasing 251|percent| from Monday.
The Michael Sucsy-directed drama displaces previous record holder, "Hitch", which collected $7.5 million on Valentine's Day Monday in 2005. Last year, "Just Go With It" bagged only $6 million on the same sweetheart holiday on Monday.
Back in 2010, "Valentine's Day" grossed a tremendous $23.4 million but the Valentine's Day fell on Sunday. In 2009, "Friday the 13th" raked in $14.3 million but the February 14 holiday was on Saturday.
"The Vow" has grossed a solid $41.2 million on its debut weekend and has successfully marked the biggest non-holiday February weekend ever. Through Tuesday, the $30 million movie has collected a total domestic cume of $56.2 million.
In the meantime, Universal Pictures' "Safe House" trails behind "The Vow" on Tuesday with $6.1 million, increasing 109|percent| from Monday. The Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds-starring action pic opened against "The Vow" last week, and collected a total cume of $49.2 million after five days playing in the U.S. theaters.
