Kristen Stewart's Prince Charming in "Snow White and the Huntsman", Sam Claflin, revealed that he once auditioned for the same role in rival movie "Mirror Mirror". The Philip Swift of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", however, must give up the part after losing battle to Armie Hammer.

In an interview with Teen magazine, the British actor confessed, "I think Armie Hammer was always their number one choice." He added, "But I kind of saw more similarities in their prince and the part I played in 'Pirates', whereas [with this] I thought I wanted to pick up a sword and I wanted to do a bit of fighting and get a bit grittier, and hopefully sort of open a few more doors for me."

During the chat, the 25-year-old thesp also talked about his co-star Stewart. He explained that in the upcoming movie, the "Twilight Saga" actress "tends to sort of not be in any princess-like costumes, which is good for her and kind of gives her that badass sort of fighting spirit." He added that the 21-year-old actress will look "pretty damned awesome" in the anticipated fairy tale film.

It has been long known that "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Mirror Mirror" are dubbed as rivals. While Claflin admitted he used to circling for Hammer's role in the Tarsem Sigh film, Lily Collins once admitted that she auditioned for Stewart's leading lady part in the Rupert Sanders version of the fairytale story.

"I auditioned for it, but I've been so excited for Kristen," she told Access Hollywood. "I think that story is so different than ours and the girls are so different. She's perfect for the version, and I'm really excited to be doing this one and I think they have totally different audiences."

"Snow White and the Huntsman" tells a twisted story of the classic fair-skinned princess tale. While the Grimm story presents Snow White as a lovely-singing princess, this movie features the female royal as a tough woman. She fights and defends herself against the Evil Queen under the guidance of the Huntsman.

While the film will not open in the U.S. theaters until June 1, Universal Pictures has unleashed more new images from the much awaited movie. One of the fresh stills sees Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman trying to protect Snow White from an awaiting danger, and the other one shows the titular hero being surrounded by armored soldiers who point their spears at him.
