Grammy winner Mary J. Blige is taking part in a news documentary about rape in U.S. military. The R 'n' B star attended the premiere of "The Invisible War" at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday, January 20.
Her song "Need Someone" is already featured in the closing credits of the movie but film producer Amy Zierig said that Blige would contribute an original song for the movie after the Sundance festival. Blige had contributed to film soundtracks before, among those is "The Living Proof" for the film "The Help". She received a nomination for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes this year.
"Invisible War" tells the experiences of men and women who are sexually assaulted by their military colleagues and the difficulty of prosecuting their attackers. The Friday premiere was also attended by Sen. Barbara Boxer of California, U.S. Rep. Jackie Speier, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and U.S. Rep. Mike Turner of Ohio.
