How their reunion would be like has been teased in a viral video which was reportedly shot at the Roxy Theatre along Los Angeles' Sunset Strip. It features Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang playing the band's 1984 hit "Panama", while Roth is prancing around the stage. No other details are announced, but it's confirmed that tickets are going on sale January 10, 2012.
Rumor has it, they have signed a record deal, and a new album is underway with Ross Hogarth serving as one of the producers. A new music is expected to come out sometime in February. Should the report be true, it will be their first new album with Roth since "1984" CD in which "Panama" is included in the tracklisting.
Roth has been on and off the band since his 1985 bitter departure. At 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, he rejoined them for a performance, only to depart again in another bitter split. They reunited again for a tour in 2007-2008, but Michael who was not part of the gig didn't approve it. "I'm a little miffed that they're calling it a Van Halen reunion. If I was dead and they needed someone to play, that's one thing, but to me this is not a reunion," he said back then.
