AceShowbiz - "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" has been premiered in New York City on Thursday night, December 15. Hitting the red carpet rolled out outside the Ziegfeld theater, lead actors Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks became the center of attention upon their arrival.

Stunning in an all-black ensemble, Bullock was all smiles as she posed for the cameramen at the special screening event. The 47-year-old actress donned an Alexander McQueen satin pantsuit, which she paired with a blazer that showed off her toned chest and neck. She let her long brown hair loose and finished off her look with a natural make-up.

Hanks, in the meantime, looked dapper in two-piece black suit. The 55-year-old actor was seen accompanied by wife Rita Wilson, who kept it simple with a black mini dress and peep-toe heels. At the special screening event, he was also joined by his on-screen son, Thomas Horn.

Among the celebrity guests spotted that night were "The Help" actress Viola Davis and "Precious" star Gabourey Sidibe. Davis, who came with husband Julius Tennon, brought color to the red carpet by rocking a bright pink gown. Meanwhile, Sidibe was eye-catching in a long-sleeve maroon dress paired with leather boots.

"Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" follows one young boy's journey from heartbreaking loss to the healing power of self-discovery. After finding a mysterious key that belonged to his father, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11, 11-year-old Oskar Schell embarks on an urgent, secret search through the five boroughs of New York.

Stephen Daldry serves behind the lens for the film based on Jonathan Safran Foer's acclaimed novel of the same name, with Eric Roth penning the script. Joining Bullock, Hanks and Horn in the cast ensemble are John Goodman, James Gandolfini, Jeffrey Wright, Max von Sydow and Adrian Martinez. The movie is set to open in limited theaters in the U.S. on Christmas day before opening wide on January 20, 2012.
