The first trailer for Adam Shankman's musical "Rock of Ages" has arrived. Making its way out via Apple, the sneak-peek video gives a look at the glory of the 80's glam rock. It centers on Julianne Hough's Sherrie and Diego Boneta's Drew, a couple who want to pursue their Hollywood dream. They are fascinated by Tom Cruise's Stacee Jaxx, a charismatic rock star who always drives young girls crazy.

In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in Los Angeles' most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80s. Their rock 'n' roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Journey, Night Ranger, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake and many more.

Cruise recently shared to Extra TV that he took the role of Jaxx because his wife Katie Holmes convinced him to. He also revealed about his preparation before starring in the musical. "You know, dancing...my hat's off to all dancers. I think they're the best athletes in the world, those guys. Even singing, I had no idea...I'd do two or three hours singing and I'd go, 'Man, I'm a little tired'," so he said.

Based on the Broadway play of the same title, "Rock of Ages" is due to arrive in theaters across the U.S. on June 1, 2012. In addition to serving behind the lens, Shankman pens the script along with Chris D'Arienzo, and Jennifer Aniston's boyfriend Justin Theroux. The drama is also supported by the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mary J. Blige, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand.
