Coming in second place, Marcus Collins admits that the girlband deserve the champion title as saying, 'They're amazing.'

AceShowbiz - Little Mix made a history after defeating Marcus Collins on the season 8 finale of British "The X Factor". The four-piece girlband mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos was the first act from Groups category which came out as the champion on the singing contest.

"We are just so, so grateful and thankful to everyone who voted and to everyone backstage," so commented Jade Thirlwall about their win on Sunday, December 11. Her bandmate Jesy Nelson added, "Oh my God, this is never going to sink in. We cannot thank the public enough."

Finishing the second, Collins looked stunned at first but then graciously admitted, "These girls really deserve it, they're amazing." His mentor Gary Barlow also praised the 23 year-old for his hard work as he stated, "I'm so proud of him, he's been a brilliant contestant, well done."

The result was in line with Simon Cowell's prediction. Speaking via Skype after the first installment of the finals, the show's creator said on the "Xtra Factor", "If I had to pick a group, I've given it away haven't I? No question or doubt, Little Mix won the night."

The British producer added, "Little Mix were a revelation and if a girl group could win this show, it kind of makes history and maybe something special is going to happen."
