Eighteen characters from much-awaited drama "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)" have been previewed in photos which are released along with their short biographies. Among those getting the highlights are Daniel Craig's Mikael Blomkvist who appears in sleazy appearance with dirty looking face, and Rooney Mara's Lisbeth Salander with punk-rock style ensemble and many piercings on her face.
Aside from pictures of these two main characters, there are also character images of the Vangers. They are Christopher Plummer's Henrik Vanger, Stellan Skarsgard's Martin Vanger, Inge Landgre's Isabela Vanger, Joely Richardson's Anita Vanger and Geraldine James' Cecilia Vanger.
In the movie, Craig plays a journalist who is dinged by a libel case, while Mara plays a young female hacker. The twosome join forces to investigate the Vanger family in order to solve a mystery surrounding the disappearance of a heiress for around forty years.
Based on the worldwide bestselling novel of the same name by Swedish author Stieg Larsson, the film is directed by David Fincher with Steven Zaillian penning the script. It is also starring Robin Wright Penn, Embeth Davidtz, Goran Visnjic, Joel Kinnaman and Julian Sands. The movie is due to open in U.S. theaters on December 21.
